It looks like IHOP isn't the only restaurant chain rebranding itself. The "b" stands for burgers!
In an effort to put the spotlight on its lunch and dinner offerings, the chain announced on Monday that the "b" stands for "burgers".
IHOP is entering a highly competitive and crowded space with its new burger line.
"We are definitely going to be IHOP", said Darren Rebelez, president of IHOP.
While restaurants like IHOP are able to get customers through the door in the wee morning hours, keeping them coming after 11 a.m. has been a struggle.
The marketing campaign is to celebrate the addition of several burger items to IHOP's menu, a line-up called "Ultimate Steakburgers", which includes seven Black Angus ground beef burgers with a variety of toppings.
Yes, the company known for flapjacks will now be known as the International House of Burgers. It's just to promote a new selection of burgers IHOP, sorry, IHOb has rolled out. But, Rebelez assured, the vast majority of the almost 1,800 other locations will still go by IHOP. But most fans figured out it was just a way to get people talking. Or going to a KFC and ordering a burger. And, for what it's worth, the company is still publicly traded under IHP.
People are getting a real kick out of IHOP's re-brand!
