The Forest High School student who was a victim in this incident was, thankfully, not seriously injured and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.
Ocala authorities said that one of the Forest High School students shot another fellow student in the ankle on Friday morning.
One 17-year-old student was injured and has been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Jake Mailhiot, 16, a junior, posted a photo a friend had taken of a psychology classroom at the school, where students had piled desks and chairs against the door.
Police are not sure what was the motive behind this incident, but claim that the suspect is not a student at Forest High.
Bouche, 1 9, mentioned, " followed by, & ldquo; Sorry, "It doesn" to reporters as he was headed by the faculty in handcuffs by a number of deputies, & rsquo; t matter any way.
Authorities said the weapon was transported by the gunman inside the faculty in a guitar instance.
"I'm angry, I'm sad, and I want to do something", he said.
In response to the Forest High School shooting, Woods said that every school campus in Marion County will have "officers and deputies present" starting Monday morning "to ensure that the parents know that law enforcement is there".
Within three minutes after hearing gunfire, Deputy James Long, the school's resource officer, located Bouche and detained him, Woods said at a news conference later Friday. "Society has changed since I was in school. My emotions are running rampant".
Bouche is facing multiple charges, including terrorism, aggravated assault with a firearm, culpable negligence, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm on school property, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, interference in a school function and armed trespassing on school property. Nikolas Cruz, 19, faces the death penalty if convicted in that shooting.
SWAT did a sweep of the school after the shooting.
The sheriff said Bouche was arrested without resistance.
School district spokesman Kevin Christian sent a recorded phone message (listen above) to parents by phone urging them to stay away from the school. The event occurred just a couple hours before many students at the school planned to participate in the national school walkout at 10:20 am EST.
