Team Cameroon officials have notified Australia police of the situation, as well as state officials in their home country.
Weightlifter Olivier Matam Matam and boxers Christian Ndzie Tsoye and Simplice Fotsala have been missing since earlier this week, while weightlifters Arcangeline Fouodji Sonkbou and Petit Minkoumba went missing on Tuesday.
"The Chairman of this athletes ... are both equally unreliable and elusive", Martin told reporters.
Disappearance of African athletes at overseas competitions is something that has often happened.
One who failed to appear was Ulrich Rodrigue Yombo who skipped Wednesday morning's weigh-in for his quarter-final bout in the 81kg division against Canada's Harley O'Reilly.
Five of the missing athletes are boxers, while three are weightlifters.
Meanwhile, the Australian government has warned athletes against overstaying their visas.
He said they were "taking the mickey".
While it may be "very embarrassing", it's not actually a crime as they have current visas.
"In the meantime, the other two weightlifters of the delegation, along with the basketball players and officials, have already left Australia and are presently airborne for Cameroon", he said.
"The authorities are very disappointed with the deserters - some did not even compete", Mr Molombe said.
In 2012, seven Cameroonian athletes disappeared in the same condition while in London for the Olympics.
"Although they have valid visas until mid-May. we are concerned because they haven't turned up for events when they are the reason they are here", he told Macquarie Media radio on Thursday.
After initial reports of five athletes unaccounted for, Cameroon's chef de mission Victor Agbo Nso confirmed on Wednesday the number had grown to eight.
"New Zealand has over 250 athletes competing in the Games including 13 para athletes competing in 3 para sports and I am excited for the opportunity to see the games and support our athletes".
Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive David Grevemberg said it was disappointing the athletes didn't show up they were scheduled to compete.
