In a highly unusual move, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency has acknowledged that "Iranian military advisers" were killed in Monday's attack on the military airfield. He was initially reportedly described as being involved in the drone division of Iran's military, but Iran state-run media removed those references.
A Senior Iranian official has warned that Israel's missile attack on the Syrian T-4 airbase "will not remain without response", Lebanon's al-Mayaden television channel reported Tuesday afternoon. In the attack, seven Iranians were killed.
It is instructive to focus on the presence of the four Iranian "military advisers" that Tehran confirmed were killed in the bombing raid.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov described the strike as "a risky development" in the Syrian civil war with the Foreign Ministry in Moscow requesting time with Israel's ambassador to Russia, Gary Koren.
"Representatives of the governments of Syria and Iran today expressed their countries" will to intensify their coordination against the threats made by Israel, the United States and their allies against this Arab country.
