The boys 4x400-meter relay team of Kesston Gentz, Colton Bieker, Rafael Vasquez and Brent Hastert won the event, in a time of 3:34.84. "Brianna Jason finished first in the pole vault with a height of 9' 0", and Lauren Carson came in right behind her with a second-place finish and a height of 8'6".
Also back with state meet experience is sophomore Casey Filkins; along with Bracken, he was a member of the Lakers' 4 x 100 relay team that finished second at district and competed at state.
In the non-scoring weight person's 4x100, Squires, Van Wyk, Wehrle and James posted a winning time of 52.39 seconds.
Junior Taylor Milleson was the runner-up in the shot put, throwing 37-11. Eastern finished fifth of eight teams with a score of 69.5, while the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets placed sixth with a score of 49.5. Hailey Gill followed in second place with a 36-09.00 throw.
The Tomahawk women had a lot of finishes in the top four, but two pole vaulters set the mark.
Niklas Klums would take first place honors in the 55 meter high hurdles with his time of:08.50. McKallip also finished second in the 3,200 yards with a time of 13 minutes, 14 seconds, almost one minute behind race victor Doster, who finished in a time of 12 minutes, 15 seconds. She placed fourth in the long jump, with a mark of 15-03.
