"Manchester City is a good move for everyone", Mahrez told reporters.
'To be honest, everyone has been very good and it's in the past now. "When the team-mates and the club were behind me it was okay, it was very easy to come back here".
And speaking to Sky Sports today he couldn't hide his disappointment at missing out on move to the Etihad Stadium.
"Manchester City is a good move for everyone, but it's the past". It's behind me. If we start talking about this, it's like coming back to this transfer window. "But at the moment I'm a Leicester player and all is good here".
"It was hard but I spoke with the players, I spoke with the manager, I spoke with everyone".
"It was not a genuine post and we have been working with Facebook to get it removed", he said.
Asked about what would happen when the transfer window opened again in the summer, Mahrez declined to commit his future to the Foxes.
"In football players come, players leave".
"My mind and my focus is on Leicester", he said.
He has scored nine goals and added seven assists in only 25 games, but recent reports indicated that he wanted to hang up his boots.
"I am not saying I am going to leave or going to go".
"That is all I am focused on, so the transfer window, I don't want to talk about it".
"I want to thank everybody for the kindness and support they have shown me in this incredible city, you will be always in my heart". The club handled it very well.
A post appeared on Mahrez's official Facebook page claiming the winger will retire from playing due to injury.
When I saw that at first I wasn't bothering because some people have nothing more to do with their life.
