NEYMAR is set to be out for between six to eight weeks after it was confirmed he has suffered a sprained ankle and a fractured metatarsal.
The injury occurred on Sunday during PSG's Ligue 1 match against Marseille.
Mentor Unai Emery was cheerful on Neymar's condition and told the club's site: "The injury to Neymar was the only black mark. I don't think everything revolves around Neymar, but I hope it's nothing serious".
Neymar, a world record signing from Barcelona for 222 million euros ($260 million), was carried off on a stretcher late in the league leader's 3-0 victory against Marseille on Sunday.
Media reports said the world's most expensive player would undergo surgery and be out for two months, returning to action a month before this year's World Cup in Russian Federation.
Emery did not say how long Neymar will be sidelined but insisted "there is a small option he can be ready for the match" against Madrid.
Neymar has played 29 games for the French club so far this season, scoring 29 goals and assisting a further 16 strikes. PSG are yet to determine the duration of Neymar's absence from Emery's side.
It hasn't been made clear when will Neymar return to full fitness.
It appears as if Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar will miss next week's massive Champions League clash against Real Madrid - and likely more.
"I don't like players getting injured so I am not glad to see Neymar's injury", Zidane said.
Neymar became the most expensive footballer of all-time after completing the summer transfer a year ago from Barcelona to PSG for a colossal fee of £200 million.
