Facebook/WestworldHBOHBO's "Westworld" will be back for another season in 2018.
The spot begins nearly like a commercial with the Westworld resort itself, with Dolores commenting in voice-over that "We built this world together. this world where dreams come true". As is custom with the series, the trailer came equipped with an instrumental cover of a popular contemporary song, albeit not a Radiohead number: Kanye West's "Runaway," brought to life with that signature Westworld style by series composer Ramin Djawadi.
Check out the new trailer directed by "Westworld" creator Jonathan Nolan ahead of the 10 episode second season kicking off on Sunday night, April 22. Narrated by Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), the overarching theme is one of conquest and rebuilding, showcasing a lot of sequences where park security is battling inside Westworld HQ, new hosts being created, and - potentially - a new park. A world where you can be free. "This world deserves to die".
Shortly after the teaser aired, HBO issued a press release regarding the new season. We've lived by your rules long enough.
The show's Twitter account then revealed that the Season 2 premiere will take place on Aprill 22 at 9pm ET.
After waiting over a year, Westworld fans can finally breathe easy because the series' second season is quickly approaching. Westworld is a show that's never been scared to be vague in its promotional materials, so we'll have to wait until the series returns to get the full picture.
