He did so after pleading with the judge to give him just one minute with Nassar, and of course she could not grant him that request.
While she understands how sensitive this situation is, she reminded the court that Nassar is here to be sentenced for the crimes he committed, because that's what the justice system allows.
Judge Janice K. Cunningham immediately interjected: "Sir". Margrave's daughters were among a group of 30 victims from an elite MI gymnastics club. She testified during day five of Nassar's sentencing in Ingham County.
Standing alongside his daughters and wife, Randall Margraves, a tall man with an intense gaze dressed in an electricians' union sweatshirt, then asked to speak.
Randall Margraves lunged at Dr. Larry Nassar after hearing his two daughters gave painful, personal and detailed victim impact statements about how Nassar sexually assaulted them during exams.
"I think a lot of times teens are afraid to tell their parents because they know they'll be upset", said Harbin. And to them I say I wish you well and I hope you can find the inner strength to go down the path of recovery. "All this is because of you".
Later, Margraves told us what he wanted to do in a room with Nassar.
There were gasps and tears in the courtroom.
The incident sparked harsh words from Michigan Assistant Attorney General Angela Povilaitis in court.
"We can not and I can not tolerate or condone vigilantism or any other type of action that basically comes down to an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", she said. Their father, Randall Margraves, later addressed the court, telling the judge he was a "distraught father". He said he had not known what exactly his daughters were going to say about their abuse.
Then, he said, he looked over and saw Nassar sitting at the defense table "shaking his head "no" like it didn't happen".
"If they were going to send a message, that this behavior is unacceptable, to try and deter something like this in the future, I think it would be more of a nominal type of fine", Donlon said. I've dealt with my daughters very delicately.
"They're basically saying, 'Hey, I'm bigger than this".
I do not doubt for a minute all the people who have come forward, there's was probably even more victims out there that have yet to come forward. He's already been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison in another MI county. A third daughter also says she was a victim.
"It's not that that's how we should respond". However, the Eaton County Sheriff's Office is still investigating and is expected to hand it over to the prosecutor's office, who can decide whether or not to pursue charges. But Nassar's reaction to his daughters' testimony pushed him over the edge.
Security rushed to stop him and grabbed him from behind before he was able to reach Nassar. The committee announced Friday that it hired a law firm to conduct an independent investigation.
Nassar was the national medical coordinator for USA Gymnastics from 1996 through 2014. He's already been sentenced to up to 175 years in prison on the charges, and another 60 years for child porn charges.
