Five women have come forward accusing James Franco of sexually inappropriate behaviour, following an appearance on U.S. television in which he declared accusations made against him on Twitter were "not accurate".
However, Tither-Kaplan revealed she found it galling to see Franco support the campaign, as she has accused the 39-year-old actor of abusing his power as the head of Studio 4, the comedy and improv school that he abruptly closed in October last year. With Kelly and Michael in April 2014, Franco expressed regret about the incident.
During yet another awkward late-night television appearance, this time on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Golden Globes victor was forced to address tweets from two women accusing him of harassment and the now-deleted tweets by Breakfast Club star Ally Sheedy. The women say some believed that working with Franco could lead them to career advancement in Hollywood. "Said too much." She later deleted the post.
Franco has denied the earlier accusations in talk show appearances this week.
James Franco again addressed allegations of sexual impropriety made against him after his big win at the Golden Globes on Wednesday's Late Night with Seth Meyers. I think that it's a good thing and I support it. "There are people, women and others, who have not been a part of this conversation".
"I truly believe, and why I was wearing the pin, is that they [women and others] need to be part of this conversation", Franco said of why he wore a Time's Up pin to the Golden Globes.
Tither-Kaplan also alleged that Franco had removed vaginal guards while filming oral sex scenes, which the Times confirmed with another actress present.
"Look, in my life I pride myself on taking responsibility for things that I have done", Franco told Colbert. Four of them were Franco's students, while the other one was his mentee at the film school that the actor founded.
Another woman, Violet Paley, was having a consensual romantic relationship with Franco in 2016 when she says he forced her to perform oral sex on him in her vehicle.
She then added: "Why is a man hosting?" She said: "I use twitter to make jokes most of the time. I don't know. I just - I guess I'm just letting it be".
In 2014, Franco apologised after flirting with Briton Lucy Clode, who was 17 when he flirted with her online after they met outside a Broadway theatre in NY. There were some things on Twitter.I haven't read them.
