A day after a special court acquitted all accused in the 2G scam, one of the biggest corruption scandals to gut the Manmohan Singh government, Congress president Rahul Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he called an "architecture of lies".
"BJP's entire foundation is on lies". So the idea, their model, is to come up with a lie, spread that lie, and just keep repeating that lie until people believe the lie, " he said.Seeking to counter the contention of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley that the Supreme Court had in 2012 found the policy of the previous UPA government as faulty and created to promote corruption, the CWC said the trial court was directed by the Supreme Court to decide the matter bereft of the preliminary observations, in absence of a full trial, of the Supreme Court.
"There was a clear view of Rahul Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and other members that struggle among people will be the way forward for the Congress".
Rahul became the party President on December 16, two days before the results of Gujarat Assembly elections were declared.
He claimed that whatever Gandhi might say, his party would not return to power as people know its "corrupt face". "We won't mind if they both wear saffron but I will also wear green", Owaisi told his supporters. Our party played a very positive role in keeping everybody together. The scriptwriter of the story was former CAG Vinod Rai and the director, producer, propaganda chairman and secretaries were BJP leaders. The truth is, however, out in the open that the BJP made a profession out of its conspiracy of lies and falsehoods to gain power at any cost. "All lies, the truth of the 2G is out there now", he told reporters after the meeting. Without naming anyone, some leaders raised the issue of enforcing discipline in the party and action against errant leaders, to which Rahul Gandhi agreed, the sources said.
