The royal family's 2017 Christmas Card photo may be their best snapshot to date, but fans were quick to point out one particularly unusual aspect of the pic after it was released on Monday, Dec. 18.
Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte do Christmas just like any other family. Let's be real, of course the family would sport coordinating/matching colors for such a formal pic, and blue is as good a color as any to choose. While William can be seen adorably holding onto his son's shoulders and Kate's left hand is resting on her skirt, the Duchess' right arm is totally missing in the pic! This year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose blue as the colour of their Christmas, with the family all smiles in their blue-hued outfits.
The photo, which appears on the Cambridges" Christmas card, shows Charlotte with the same bright smile as the monarch, 91, who is affectionately known as "Gan-Gan' to her great-grandchildren. Though Kate's appendage is presumably just tucked behind her husband's back, the image does seem a little unusual once you take a closer look!
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family", Kensington Palace announces. In addition, Kensington Palace noted that the image was taken "earlier this year", as Kate clearly isn't showing any baby bump signs in the photo.
Hugo Burnand took the picture of the couple at the party held at the Highgrove estate a few days before Camilla's birthday.
