The 30,000 square-foot space is the company's second Reserve Roastery.
China is Starbucks fasting growing market with a store opening every 15 hours with more than 3,000 stores across 136 cities.
This new Shanghai store is almost 30,000 square feet, has over 100 beverages on the menu, and allows customers to participate in the first AR (augmented reality) experience from Starbucks.
Starbucks is going venti in China. When customers enter the massive new Roastery building, which measures up at 2,700 square-meters (30,000 square-feet), they'll be greeted by a two-story copper cask adorned with over a thousand hand-engraved Chinese stamps, collectively narrating the story of Starbucks coffee. Revenue from the Asia-Pacific region accounted for nearly 15 percent of Starbucks' revenue for the fiscal year ended in October.

DIGITAL: The Shanghai Roastery is the first Starbucks location to seamlessly integrate a real-time, in-store and online customer experience.
"The affinity we have built with our partners [employees] and customers over the past 18 years in China is special, and we knew we must bring the Reserve Roastery, our boldest, most-premium store ever, to Shanghai", said Howard Schultz, executive chairman of Starbucks Coffee Company, in a statement.
He also said that China was becoming the most important market for Starbucks.
Starbucks expanded its investment in China in July, when it announced plans to buy out the partners in its East China joint venture.
But despite all of Shanghai Roastery's features, it's still a coffee shop at heart.
In 2012, Starbucks China has operated the China Starbucks Farmer Support Center in Pu'er in the Yunnan Province, supplying agronomists to work in concert with government representatives and local farmers to improve quality and production through the region.
Starbucks has more than 600 coffee shops in Shanghai, more than any other city in the world.
Shares of Starbucks have risen 5.8 percent this year.
