The Thiruvananthapuram MP quipped on the micro-blogging site about how the BJP made a "mistake to demonetise our currency" and how "even our Chhillar has become Miss World".
The NCW's official Twitter handle wrote: "NCW condemn the tweet of @INCIndia leader @ShashiTharoor".
As the tweet above mentions, Tharoor had complimented the Miss World victor for her "terrific answer" during the Question and Answer round of the pageant. "He must apologize immediately", the organisation said. They looked excited watching Manushi grabbing top five spots. He posted on both Facebook and Twitter that he meant no offence to Chhillar with his jab at the central government.
As did Haryana chief minister ML Khattar, who wrote,"Many many congratulations to Haryana's daughter Manushi Chhillar on becoming Miss World 2017".
Stephanie Hill, a former Miss South Yorkshire, was crowned Miss England at a glittering awards ceremony earlier this year. She replied: "I think a mother is of highest respect". My mother is the biggest inspiration to me. "I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the biggest salary". The 21-year-old is the fifth Indian to win this competition.
India's Manushi Chillar has finally brought India the much-required worldwide glory that was achieved by Aishwarya Rai way back in 1994 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, who is an MLA from Haryana, also congratulated her. Her personal motto, as described on the website, reads: "When you cease to dream you cease to live" and "Courage to give flight to your dreams and the ability to believe in yourself makes life worth living".
