The woman was returning from her coaching classes on Monday when four men allegedly accosted her near a railway crossing, dragged her to a desolate spot, took turns raping her and tried to strangle her. Of the three accused arrested so far, one was sent to two-day police remand, while two others were sent to judicial custody.
A policeman's daughter was gang-raped in capital Bhopal and the victim had to keep running between MP Nagar and Habibganj police stations to lodge the FIR, he added.
A 19-year-old college student returning home from coaching classes in Bhopal was tied up and gang raped by four men who assaulted her repeatedly for three hours under a bridge, allegedly taking tea and gutka (tobacco) breaks in between.

Her parents work in the police department and the girl was on her way to the railway station from where she was to board a train to Vidisha. Reports state that she routinely took a train from the station to her hometown, which is located almost an hour away, after attending her coaching classes for the IAS.
The Habibganj Government Railway Police (GRP) finally lodged a case of gang rape and abduction against the gang members aged between 22 and 40 years. "Very large number of rapes are not reported at all due to social taboo", she said.
It was only when the woman and her parents nabbed two of the culprits after a scuffle on Wednesday that the police registered a complaint.
Police later said that only three accused had been arrested while the fourth involved in the crime had been detained. Officer in the Habibganj police station redirected them to Habibganj GRP. However, the police did not, stating that the area where the incident happened did not come under its jurisdiction. "SHO GRP Mohit Saxena and SI Uikey misbehaved with us and said they wouldn't file any case".
In addition to that, the CSP of MP Nagar circle, Kulwant Singh has been removed from the post and attached to the state police headquarters in Bhopal, said general of state police (IG Law and Order) Makrand Deuskar.
