At the PlayStation Media Showcase, Sucker Punch Productions, developers behind the Infamous series (the series is called Infamous, not the adjective, yes it's slightly confusing) revealed their new game, Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world action game set during the feudal period of Japan, and will allow players to "see the power of the Mongol Empire first-hand". We're taking inspiration from the actual historical point in time where the Mongol Army invaded the island of Tsushima. Using the "way of the Ghost", you'll rely on all of your training as a samurai to take back Tsushima once and for all. It is a samurai game from Sucker Punch. The game has been in development for 3.5 years thus far, and the team is hoping to deliver a "fantasy" about being a samurai in feudal Japan.
Ghost of Tsushima is just one of many PlayStation announcements made at Paris Games Week 2017. Sony did not reveal a release window for the game. However, "honorable tactics won't lead you to victory" and they "must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting-the way of the Ghost-as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan".
We're excited to finally be able to talk about the game and look forward to sharing more in the coming months.
If you watched Sony's conference today at Paris Games Week, then you probably found yourself wondering when the new exclusive trailers were shown: "What is this lovely Asian-themed trailer about?"
