Donald Trump's ex-wife, Ivana Trump in her book Raising Trump says she knew her marriage was over after a day in December 1989. "I'm first lady", she said. And I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that, because I'm basically first Trump wife.
She goes on to say that she couldn't turn on the TV without seeing her face plastered across the screen and was anxious about her kids during the divorce.
Discussing a potential run by Ivanka, her mother said she could see her daughter making a move for office: "Maybe in fifteen years she could run for president".
In her book, Ivana writes that she and the president are now on warmer terms, speaking about once a week.
Ivana Trump, who was married to President Trump from 1977 to 1992, has a new book, "Raising Trump", due out on Tuesday. "I love my husband.' It was unladylike but I was in shock".
She writes, "This young blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said 'I'm Marla and I love your husband".
"My instincts told me that Donald was smart and amusing an all-America good guy", she writes.
And today, she says she's not sure who to blame for the affair "because Donald would get a thousand business cards in the pocket every night".
Ivana Trump has since been married and divorced twice, and now maintains a jet-setting, globetrotting lifestyle.
"She actively participated in humiliating me in the media and indirectly put my kids at risk for months", Trump, who shares Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump with the former "The Apprentice" host, writes in the book. Donald Jr. didn't speak to his father for a year after the split. "I couldn't turn on the television without hearing my name", Trump adds. Ivana Trump writes, while also considering what her own title would be.
And then, as she told GMA, there was the time that the president protested to naming his firstborn after himself.
Despite these bitter feelings Maples, Ivana harbors no ill-will toward said that she "gets along" with Trump's current wife, First Lady Melania Trump. Her children have all contributed passages to the book.
