Even though HTC's R&D division has been taken over by Google, the Taiwanese company has confirmed that it still has an R&D team that had designed the HTC U11 flagship phone. The Edge Sense technology which debuted with the HTC U11 will supposedly make a return with the U11 Plus, i.e. the smartphone is said to have a pressure-sensitive frame which can recognize when the user is squeezing it and identify different levels of pressure exerted on it, then use that information to trigger various modifiable actions, essentially acting as a physical shortcut mechanism. Meanwhile, some reports making rounds the web claim that HTC is working on a new smartphone which will reportedly succeed the recent flagship device by company - the HTC U11.
The HTC U11 Plus, codenamed Ocean Master, will supposedly be the first from the brand to have a bezel-less display, with an 18:9 aspect ratio, which is the common trend among smartphones lately. This design would be a first for HTC, which has accustomed us to a rather imposing chassis.
In China, the HTC U11 Plus is tipped to launch on the 11 of November. The screen resolution is expected to be 1440×2880. Like the HTC U11, the Plus variant of the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest processor - Snapdragon 835 chipset. The base model will be complemented with 64GB of UFS 2.1 storage while the 6GB RAM variant will get a whopping 128GB of internal memory.
The rear plate of the HTC U11 Plus is said to accommodate a 12-megapixel camera, whereas its slim top bezel will supposedly feature an 8-megapixel sensor. The company has also said that it is working on its next flagship phone called HTC U11 Plus that will be arriving with a full screen design. For taking selfies, the smartphone will sport an 8MP shooter on the front.
